BUST Craftacular

BUST Craftacular

After receiving a reminder from Marcy (Asking For Trouble/Super Cute Kawaii) about the BUST craftacular this weekend, I took myself off to Bethnal Green, East London to check out some fabulous crafts.

At £70 a stall, the crafts on show tended towards the more accomplished & pricey end of the spectrum but there were also lots of cards and badges for limited budgets. The hall was packed with cool-looking people browsing the stalls and eating cupcakes in the tearoom.

The best part for me was the Tatty Devine stall where you could make your own charm bracelet for £2 a charm and add to the world’s largest charm bracelet for free! I spent some happy minutes here designing my own bracelet which is shown below.

Cool huh?! As you can see, I am quite the fan of stars & blue. I also spied a girl in a green Illinoise tee so just had to go say hi to a fellow Sufjan enthusiast! Shows you the nicest people go to craft fairs. :)

Just a quick post to let you know that my Sad Bunny & Kitty cards are now available to buy in my Etsy shop. Please adopt Bunny & Balloon or Kitty & Kite today!

Bunny & Kitty Cards

Bunny & Kitty Cards

I’m off on my holidays next week but, before I go, I wanted to unveil my new kawaii cards! They feature a brown bunny holding a red balloon and a grey kitty with a blue kite. The cards are made with felt, hand sewn onto white deckle-edged blanks and are super-cute!
Look out for them in the shop when I return.

This looks quite similar to Asking For Trouble’s bear with balloon! Great minds, eh?

Sufjan Stevens

Happy Birthday Sufjan! Wishing you all the joy you give to others.

I had a bit of cash going spare (thanks to Glasgow City Council!) and decided to blow it on cute hairclips and earrings from some of my fave Etsy shops.

Kitty Hairclip

Kitty Hairclip

Kitty Hairclip from Joey’s Dream Garden – I had been cooing over this cute shop for quite a while so just had to have this adorable hairclip, particularly as it was the last one left! Joey is a very friendly seller and fast shipper so I had the clip in my hair within a couple of days. Already planning my next purchase…

Squid Earrings

Squid Earrings

Squid Earrings from illi – All of illi’s designs are super-kawaii and I had a hard time choosing just one. It was a toss-up between these and the octopi but the squid were marginally cuter! The packaging is excellent if you want to give as a gift.

Star Crystal Earrings

Star Crystal Earrings

Star Crystal Earrings from Rairen – I have a bit of a obsession with star earrings and these are very cute & sparkly. There are also a lot of kawaii items in the shop with FREE shipping – bargainous!

Bumblebee Hairclip

Bumblebee Hairclip

Bumblebee Hairclip from sundropclips – Who doesn’t love a fuzzy, buzzy bumblebee?! When I saw this cute little fella, I just had to have him to adorn my hair. This shop has a wide variety of handmade felt hairclips to suit all tastes and hairstyles.

I have also made an Etsy Treasury of some of my fave kawaii sea critters! Go see the cute here !

Footie Shark - Awesome at keepie-uppies!

Footie Shark - Awesome at keepie-uppies!

I haven’t been doing a lot of crafting lately as have been revising hard for exams but I have come up with a couple of new designs and Footie Shark is my absolute favourite!

Seeing this adorable design by Crowded Teeth gave me a horrid realisation that I have been sorely neglecting sharks. Burning with shame, I put my brain to work and came up with this fun design of a shark doing keepie-uppies.

Footie Shark Notebook

Footie Shark Notebook

This was my first attempt at sewing a felt design onto a bag and I found it fun but fiddly! I also noticed I’d drawn the bounce lines the wrong way on the notebook so changed that for my bag design. Hope you love him as much as me!

Biscuits & Buns

Biscuits & Buns

Being a massive fan of Marcy’s Jammie Dodger character, I was delighted to receive this sweet little draw-string bag through the post this morning. Apparently it didn’t pass the stringent quality control at Asking For Trouble HQ but it looks perfect to me and goes nicely with my adorable plushy brooch. Lots of Cakeify & Friends goodies are available at the Asking For Trouble shop now.

Just as exciting was the Monsieur Le Bun badge! As you well know I have rather a crush on this sticky gentleman, even managing to bully Bunny & Panda from Super Cute Kawaii into setting him up with his very own Twitter account! Follow him here and get your very own badge here. Allez!

Felt Plush Envelope Prototype

Felt Plush Envelope Prototype

I was clicking about one day trying to find some kawaii gifts for Marceline’s birthday, and came across these amazing plush envelopes by My Paper Crane but unfortunately they weren’t available to buy at the time.

Cursing my misfortune, I then found this brilliant tutorial by LucyKate Crafts and she made it look so easy I decided to make my own cute plushy envelope!

The grey one is my prototype and the blue one is the final version I sent to Marcy. I added a felt ’stamp’ to the front and lined it with cute bunny fabric I got in Tokyo. I think she likes it!

*Many thanks to the very talented ladies at My Paper Crane and MaryKate Crafts*

Felt Flower Cards

Felt Flower Cards

To celebrate the start of Spring I have brought out a new range of cards, featuring 5 different colours of felt hearts arranged in a flower shape and handsewn to the card. Perfect for Mother’s Day, birthdays and other special occasions, these cute white deckled edge cards also have a lilac insert for added fanciness.

Now available only at my Etsy shop!
